My Little Micro-Corner of the World

I’m doing a daily saint series over at Contemplatio Culture. Make sure to subscribe or follow or whatever you do to make sure you don’t miss a post. Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep doing this daily and give a little look at some lesser-known saints or a different look at very well-known saints. Tell me what you think! The series started on July 1.

I also wrote a little piece over there for the feast of St. Germaine likening her to Cinderella (or maybe more properly, likening Cinderella to her). This is also a series I hope to continue about once a month or so at CC.

I’m also still over at Catholic Singles and EpicPew. I’ve applied to write at another place, too, so fingers crossed.

My adorable family on the Fourth of July in some hotel somewhere

In other news, the baby is crawling, we went to the Great Sand Dunes National Park for Fourth of July Weekend, and I have two books in the works. With all of these projects and my day job going on, it feels like I’m working more full time than part time, and I guess that’s true considering I pull about 30-hour weeks most of the time now. I don’t know if I like it. Having a schedule actually makes me more productive but I also miss having time to craft, play with the kids, and chill. Also, the dishes and laundry don’t get done nearly as often anymore.

I’ve been reading more, though! And I’ll have some more reviews up here someday, too. My quick takes are as follows: Jennifer Fulwiler’s Your Blue Flame is not to be missed; Mandy Arioto’s Have More Fun is adequately fun but you could skip it and not be missing too too much; Emily DeArdo’s Living Memento Mori is the perfect sort of serious (read my review of it here); and Dr. Gregory Bottaro’s The Mindful Catholic is good but slow and so I haven’t finished it yet.

Since today happens to be the feast of St. Maria Goretti, too, I thought I’d share a post I wrote about her last year to finish us off. Happy reading everyone!
